In the photo below, the Reverend W. Frisby Hendricks, III blesses a Loggerhead turtle, which is waiting to be named by Elementary School students. The turtle is held by Denise Blanton.
The turtle's new home is at the Environmental Studies Center in Jensen Beach and he is unable to attend the Annual Blessing of Animals at All Saints' Church, Jensen Beach, due to the fact he is a sea turtle.
"Father Frisby's" attraction to turtles is due to the fact that several years ago one of his son's childhood nicknames was "turtle". That little boy is now Vice-President of the Diocesan Youth of Southeast Florida.
