The Reverend Jane Hostetter, Deacon, has been a
member at All Saints' Church since 1998. She was ordained in December
2007 by Bishop Frade who assigned her to All Saints'.
She was born and raised in the farm country of New Jersey, riding
horses and even milking cows.
She attended an Episcopal boarding school in Maryland and enrolled
in a college in Vermont, Green Mountain College. She went on to
nursing school and became a cardiac nurse at Morristown Memorial
Hospital, in New Jersey, for 12 years.
Her husband introduced her to the polo world and travelled the
circuit, bringing her to Florida 20 years ago. She still has a
horse farm in Wellington with her sister, Prudence. She also enjoys
running her two dogs in agility trials.
Her ministry is in pastoral care, working in hospitals and hospice
and visiting our sick and shut-in. She received her Clinical Pastoral
Education accredition at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, which
she says was a life altering experience.
She hopes that she can increase the pastoral care ministry at
All Saints' with the help of the Lay Eucharist Visitors and laypersons.
To bring comfort for those in need is a significant aspect of her
ministry. |
